	You Can Still Buy Cool stuff! Collector Chimp Fest tees, totes, hats, pint glasses and handcrafted mugs are wonderful for keeping or giving as gifts. Best of all net proceeds benefit chimps at the Sanaga- Yong Chimpanzee Rescue Center. Akiba, whose name means 'thank you' in the local Cameroon dialect, is featured on all the specially designed items. Akiba was brought to the center in March 2004, when she was less than eight months old. Since then, she has blossomed into a playful, caring social companion to the other orphans. 	More Ways to Save A Chimp The Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue Center in Cameroon was founded by former Portland veterinarian Dr. Sheri Speede, to ensure that endangered chimpanzees survive in their natural habitats. Located in Cameroon's Mbargue Forest, the center provides sanctuary for chimpanzees orphaned by the illegal ape meat trade. In collaboration with the government of Cameroon, the organization gives hope and health to both the human and ape communities.
